The National Science Center takes science on the road with its Mobile Discovery Centers. Housed in an 18-wheelers, the mobile centers travel across the country, presenting programs designed to show young people that studying science and math is fun as well as essential to their future.
 

Virtual Experience Interactive Learning Software (VEILS®) DVD-ROMs

This library of six interactive DVD-ROMs helps participants prepare for difficult real-life issues by allowing them to "play it out" on a computer and experience the consequences of their choices before they "live it out" in reality and are forced to live with those consequences forever.

 

Basic Skills Education Program

The Basic Skills Education Program provides Soldiers with job-related instruction to improve basic educational competencies necessary for job proficiency, skill qualification, advanced schooling and career progression. The Basic Skills program focuses on: reading and math skills that Soldiers need on the job; reclassification purposes; and preparation for lifelong learning.

Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB)

Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC)

Boost

The Boost campaign is intended to help support and encourage the nearly 7,000 kids a day who drop out of high school. Research shows that the decision to drop out doesn't happen overnight. The campaign features stories of real teens from across the country who are struggling to make it through high school, while also encouraging teens and parents to give these kids a "boost" to help them stay in school and graduate.
