Dear Educators,
I am pleased to share the ninth issue of Army Education News & Updates with you today. As another school year gets underway, we know this is a critical time for youth education in our Nation. While other countries have been making major improvements in education, America continues to be challenged with declining graduation rates and the need to adequately prepare its young people to compete in a knowledge-based global economy. That is why the Army is dedicated to its partnerships with important education organizations.
In this issue, I encourage you to read the partner organization profile to learn more about The National FFA Organization. We saluted FFA during their national convention, which took place October 19-21 in Indianapolis, IN. National FFA helps the Nation's youth explore their personal talents and interests through a broad array of career options through agricultural education. In addition, we profile March2Success, a free, no-obligation program that aims to improve students' standardized testing scores. March2Success helps students improve their scores on tests such as the SAT, ACT, ASVAB and state exit exams. Success on these tests can open many doors for students, which will put them in a better position to succeed in the future.
In order to ensure our country’s ongoing success and strength, your Army is committed to continued partnerships with the education community to increase high school graduation rates and positively impact other areas crucial to the future success of our young people.
