Dec 6, 2010

U.S. Army Partners with National Education Organizations for

Third Annual Education Conference to Improve Post-Secondary Outcomes for Students

WHAT:             For the third year in a row, U.S. Army Accessions Command is partnering with key national education, business and service organizations to host a conference that seeks to improve post-secondary outcomes for the Nation’s young people.

The conference, held at Fort Leavenworth, “The Intellectual Center of the Army,” will explore Army and civilian best practices, innovative approaches and policies in education and leadership development and provide direct opportunities for educators around the nation to observe and experience the U.S. Army's unique strengths in the realm of leadership, education and training.

WHY:               The U.S. Army is advancing a long-term education initiative to address the common interests between the Army and the education community in overcoming some of the most significant challenges faced by both groups: drop-out prevention and intervention, post-secondary planning and success, workforce readiness, teacher support and childhood obesity.
